Looking after the vulnerable in our community is the core of what Aurora Special Care Center embrace. Since 1978 they have been a safe haven and valuable resource for both children and adults with disabilities.
Based in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha, Aurora Special Care Center is a registered NPO, starting from humble beginnings with only 6 children, the center has since grown exponentially into a specialised service for children and adults with disabilities. It now consists of a Residential Care Facility, a Stimulation Centre and a Group Home. There is a staff complement of close to 100 employees to keep it all running smoothly.
Early warning of any fire emergency is critical in a care home, but with the added considerations for those with disabilities, ensuring there is a reliable working fire detection system provides the early warning required, giving residents the time required to safely evacuate. G-One Fire chose to install the EA addressable system to help staff and emergency services quickly locate any potential fire events, allowing staff and residents as much time as possible to evacuate the buildings should it be necessary. Having installed numerous addressable EA-P132 panel and devices in the past they were confident the system would be stable enough not to false alarm, while being reactive enough to provide the early warning necessary to save lives.
