Recabling an existing system is a complex and expensive project. In many cases, upgrading a system doesn't need to have all the cable re-run.
As the new Kidde touchscreen panels do not work with Ziton devices , this adaptor base was made specially to help remove old Ziton devices to replace the new Excellence devices without needing to recable the detector base plate.
